The 8th Friday Night Partyy |
Capitol Raceway once again brings us another great show with Outlaw 10.5 and Drag
Radial Classes, The 8th race of the 2007 season included 2 classes of heads up door slamming action And the weather could not of been any better. Each race this year gets better and better with More cars making the show and new comers showing up at each race leaves you to wonder What the next race will bring. I know I am looking forward to the next race in 2 weeks and hope to see Capitol keep both classes running strong. But not to leave out the one guy who kept at Capitol to try OPS again and to bring in the drag radial class and that would be Terris Hicks. Terris has worked with Capitol Raceway in the 2007 season trying to get the OPS race off the ground and now the Drag Radial cars. Terris all so worked with D&S photography to get this website for race coverage, hopeing that the website would help get the word out there to other racers that Capitol Raceway hears what the racers want and is trying to make the show work for both the track and the racers. So what can be done to make this a better show? How about a few sponsors to help get the payouts higher to help make it worth the trip for some of the drivers that have long drives. I seen someone say let the drivers that have long |

Chris Little in his 1st time run of the night with his 1990 Ford Mustang. Chris went
on to win D/R class. Chris also gets the top speed for the night at 143.31
MPH |
Pulls in for free to help off set the cost of getting to the track. I for one think
that would be a great idea, but let's keep in mind that there is still a payout
to be covered so money is needed and sponsors is where that money will need
to come from. So if you in a position to help and want to be part of a great show
please contact Capitols office and Talk with Kim at 410-793-0661 or 410-793-0662
this is your chance to be part of a great show. So enough with the pillow
talk and lets get on with the show. |

Dave Tolley leaves hard in qualifying and takes the # 2 spot on the ladder. Dave
ihas held the # 2 spot in the last 3 races and said he hope to change that at the
next race. Good luck Dave. |
Outlaw Pro Street 10.5 with 9 cars trying to get into 8 spots every one would have
to be on their game. The crew at Capitol doing their best to prep a hot track
felt they had the track ready to handle the power of these hard hitting street
machines. Qualifying was about to be under way and after 2 rounds here is how
it laid out. 1. James houston Upperco, MD 64 Ford 351 5.011 @ 139.88 2. Dave Tolley Monrovia, MD 98 Ford 417 5.095 @ 140.65 3. Tink Liptrap Baltimore, MD 65 Chevy 565 5.188 @ 139.06 4. Drag Radial seems to be a hot new class here at Capitol. Street class cars with lots
of power. I know this class has lots more cars to offer and I think a few Capitol
regulars will join in on this class. But for this race we had 7 cars to
enjoy and after 2 rounds of qualifying here is how they stacked up. 1. Chris Little Pasadena, MD 90 Ford 351 5.448 @ 143.31 2. Frank Provenza MT Airy, MD 93 Ford 357 5.765 @ 131.23 3. With the ladders now set it was the time we all been waiting for. Again the Capitol
Crew went to work making sure the track was ready for the street racing OUTLAWS
of Capitol Raceway. The fans got on their feet and lined the walls and fences
an you can feel the excitement in the air. |
